Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm

North Sea, UK2018–2026$12B

Project Overview

The Hornsea Wind Farm complex, developed by Ørsted, is the world's most ambitious offshore wind development programme — a cluster of four interconnected offshore wind farms located 120 to 160 kilometres off the Yorkshire coast of England in the North Sea. Together, the Hornsea zones represent a planned combined capacity of over 6 GW, enough to power approximately 6 million UK homes.

Hornsea One (1.2GW, 174 turbines) became the world's largest operating offshore wind farm upon commissioning in 2020. Hornsea Two (1.32GW) surpassed it as the world's largest in 2022. Hornsea Three and Four are in development, with combined capacity of over 3.5GW.

ARIF GROUP engaged as a project finance and capital facilitation partner, supporting Ørsted and project co-investors in accessing international institutional capital and sovereign wealth fund participation for the Hornsea programme's financing rounds.
